African Hoopoe

The Lion and Elephant Motel is situated on the banks of the very wide Bubi River. There was no water at all in the river, only soft sand. The central area was good for watching flocks of birds flying into the trees along the river banks through our telescopes. This Hoopoe was foraging along the embankment.
