A visit to Gornergrat on the cog railway from Zermatt is always a highlight of a holiday in Zermatt. At over 3,000 metres above sea level, the views of the Matterhorn and other mountains can be stunning but less so on the cloudy and snowy day when we made the trip. Alpine Chough is a common species at Gornergrat in fact the only species on the day we visited.
