Australian Crake adult

There are a few pools in the corner of fields near Deniliquin and these are good places to try and see Crakes. The trick seems to be to find a line of sight into the dense reeds and hope that the Crake appears. Following a long wait and a few occasions when this Australian or Australian Spotted Crake was visible but behind reed stems, it decided to make a dash into the open for a fleeting second or two.
