Australian White Ibis

Australian White Ibis

Despite being a very common species, it is not easy to get a good photograph of the White Ibis. In common with other black and white birds, there is a tendency to overexpose the white feathering. In this case, it was a gloomy and damp day and this allows a much better colour balance for a black and white species. As a result, the feather detail can be seen well in this image.
