Another Bornean montane endemic species which we did not see until we were leaving the Park for the final time. According to my field guide, the species is “often seen feeding on the berries of the pink flowered Medinella bushes which have been planted everywhere” at Kinabalu National Park HQ. I have aged this bird as a juvenile by the orange bill base and gape flange, and as a female by the lack of red feathering around the throat. Comments would be most welcome regarding this identification.
