Black Stork

Black Stork

I was fortunate to find this Black Stork searching for prey in the East River. It appeared to be using its wings in the way that some heron species do that is to make an umbrella shape and attract the prey closer. This is not behaviour which I have witnessed before in any members of the stork family.
