Although one would love to be able to photograph male birds of this family in breeding plumage, this is not always possible and anyway, it can be helpful for identification purposes to post some photos of juveniles, females and males in non-breeding plumage as in the case of this bird. It was in a small family party in an area of farm bush which had been burnt and where the birds seemed to be able to find plenty of food.
