Black-winged Stilt chick

This chick is not long out of the egg but already has rather ungainly long legs. Several pairs of adult birds were nesting in the area of the salt pans. Caroline wanted me to take a photo of the chick but I was rather concerned as it was near the road. I parked the car and waited quietly and fortunately, the chick walked towards us.
