We stayed in the hills above Bastia but this area had few bird species. Several Buzzards were circling overhead on arrival and I set off with my camera in bright sunshine before breakfast the following morning. The hillsides were well forested and I saw this bird resting on a wall in a small clearing within the forest. It is the first time that I have been close enough to a perched Common Buzzard to be able to take a photo.
