Common Kingfisher adult female

Common Kingfisher adult female

When we finally managed to get a view across the lake, we recognised a distant building which we had seen on a poster advertising the Ecomusée. This proved to be extremely difficult to find as there are no signs to it until one is almost there. The journey was worth the effort however as we were able to watch three Kingfishers for several hours. Eventually, one of them came close enough for a photograph when it perched under the bridge on which I was standing. By holding the camera over the water and pointing it downwards, I was able to obtain my first presentable shot of a Common Kingfisher, albeit with its tail hidden under the bridge.
