Common Pheasant adult female

Elmley Marshes is one of my favourite places to watch wildlife in my home county of Kent. Two female Common Pheasants were trying to stop three young birds from running onto the track along which a few cars were passing. Eventually, the juveniles found some shelter in the long grass and I was able to take a portrait photo of the adult from very close range using the car as a hide.
