Common Snipe

Common Snipe

There were some two dozen Common Snipe in the open in front of the hide which provided some good photographic opportunities. The star bird of the day however was a Buff-breasted Sandpiper which stayed for less than an hour but gave good if distant views. The record and distant photos of this Nearctic vagrant have been sent to the Kent County Recorder for ratification by the rarities committee.
