Common Tern

Common Tern

On my first full day in Lesvos, I made a point of getting up at dawn and going for a stroll along the beach to see some bird life. Having photographed this tern in the harbour, I walked along the beach. I am not sure what it is about me and dogs except that we don’t like each other. On this occasion, I was attacked by a pack of feral dogs and sustained some mild bites to my ankle. I made a hasty retreat but they insisted on following me back towards the hotel. Eventually they ran ahead of me and I escaped along a track around the side of the marshes.
