A tall wooden tower in the clearing with the mud volcano afforded excellent views of the surrounding forest. An important find was a party of Cream-vented Bulbuls with white eyes contrary to the field guide which shows them with red eyes although it mentions that immature birds have whitish or greyish eyes. This image was forwarded to the Malaysia Natural History Society with the result that it was found that the white-eyed race does occur in Borneo in small numbers compared to the red eyed race.
