The highlight of the morning was listening to the song of many of the estimated 80 to 90 pairs of Skylarks which bred on the grazing marshes this year. It is unusual to be able to photograph a Skylark at close range but this juvenile stayed by the side of the track allowing the photo to be taken from the car at a distance of around five metres.
