Helmeted Guineafowl

Helmeted Guineafowl

We landed on the grassy runway at Kasanka, yet another of Zambia’s large number of Important Bird Areas (IBAs), after a short flight from the Bangweulu Swamps. After settling in to a beautiful lodge with a view over a large lake, it was time for a quick lunch before setting off on a game drive. A very common species, Helmeted Guineafowl are not easy to photograph as they usually run fast away from the camera.
