We were invited by my wife’s cousin to participate in a Koala tracking project at You Yangs. This was a very exciting opportunity and gave us the chance to see and photograph Koalas. This particular animal sat very still high up in a tree with its eyes closed most of the time. Like a child, it seemed that Koalas think that if they can’t see you, you can’t see them. It opened its eyes and looked around the tree trunk for a brief time. The Koala was backlit and the bright white sky made photography difficult but it is unlikely that I will have as good an opportunity again to photograph a Koala.
