Mangrove Golden Whistler

Mangrove Golden Whistler

Although the offshore islands are close to the main island of New Britain, there are a number of bird species which do not appear to visit the main island. I am not quite sure of the reason for this but perhaps they prefer to be in deserted spots and away from human habitation. This is one such species that is difficult to see and photograph in the dense vegetation.
