This dragonfly offered an opportunity for an in flight photograph, something that I have not tried previously. It flew on a circuit through reeds and grasses about once every thirty seconds which gave me the chance to point the camera in the direction of its flight path. It was fairly close so I used autofocus with a long lens.
Migrant Hawker is found throughout central and southern Europe, north Africa, the Middle East and across Asia to China and Japan. As it is a migratory species it can occur outside its normal range and in recent years it has been spreading northwards. Source: Wikipedia
