Olive-backed Sunbird

Olive-backed Sunbird Cinnyris jugularis is a reasonably common species in south-east Asia and Australasia. I have seen it in Borneo, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Queensland, Australia where it is also known as Yellow-bellied Sunbird. It was recorded on four days in Thailand with a total of 9 birds seen. This photo is of a male Olive-backed Sunbird which shows the key features of the dark blue breast, a dark red breast band, a yellow belly and vent. This photo was taken in Singapore and shows the bird in much better light.
