I am not sure why I was surprised to find a sunbird in the Gardens, even a reasonably common species such as this one. We had only just arrived at the lake and I wasn’t prepared to photograph such a fast moving species. This bird however was very obliging and thankfully stayed long enough on these flowers for me to obtain close views.
