I believe this spectacular butterfly is a type of Red Glider. Mabille’s Red Glider is found in West Africa from Sierra Leone to Ghana so that is a possibility. There are 72 species in the genus Cymothoe of which at least nine are red species. Source: http://www.learnaboutbutterflies.com/
