Sand Martins

Sand Martins

This bank acts as a nest site for many pairs of Sand Martins. The adult birds fly very rapidly both into and out of their nest holes and this makes photographing them a challenge. One technique is to focus on the bank and wait for a bird to appear. On this occasion, several arrived or were leaving at the same time.
