Sharp-tailed Sandpiper
Most of the waders at Werribee breed in the Arctic and visit Australia to escape the northern winter. They were therefore in non-breeding plumage which made for an identification challenge. Sharp-tailed Sandpiper was an abundant species at Werribee.
