Sooty Tern adult
We had occasional sightings of Sooty Terns during our time in and around Kiunga. This in itself is quite remarkable given that Sooty Tern is a pelagic species and Kiunga is at least 200 miles from the nearest coast. We presume that they flown along one of the river systems.
