Tasmanian Pademelon

This species is also known as Rufous-bellied Pademelon. It was once found on the south-east Australia mainland but now only occurs in Tasmania. We came across a small party of these animals in dark forest in the Cradle Mountain National Park but this one strayed onto the track. A short while later, we saw and photographed a Red-necked (Bennett’s) Wallaby in much brighter light.
