Wedge-tailed Shearwater

Wedge-tailed Shearwater

While waiting for our plane, an even more remarkable sighting was that of a Wedge-tailed Shearwater, presumably a bird only rarely observed so far from the sea. As well as having to cope in an area with none of its normal food supplies, it also had to fight off an Oriental Hobby which had taken a dislike to its presence.
