A long distance shot of a Blue-spotted Wood Dove on the opposite side of the river from our camp. Cassin’s Camp had been an excellent birding location, well situated to see the uncommon birds of north-west Zambia. A long two day drive ensued during which I had limited camera battery power so I didn’t take any photographs. Fortunately, a kind professional photographer in Kitwe in the copper belt charged my batteries and forwarded them by taxi to our hotel at Ndola.
