Common Iora Aegithina tiphia was another bird which was looking damp following the heavy rain earlier that morning. It was perched in low bushes close to the track which afforded good views. It is a fairly common species which I have seen in India, Nepal, Malaysia and Borneo as well as Thailand.
It has an extensive range which includes India, Sri Lanka, southern China, Myanmar, Laos, Sumatra, Java and Bali in addition to the areas mentioned above.
It is one of only four species in the family Ioras Aegithinidae, the others being Marshall’s, Green and Great Ioras. Common Iora is found in scrub and forest habitat.
