African Marsh Harrier

African Marsh Harrier

A highlight of Lochinvar is the large number of waterbirds. The low water levels meant that they were too far away for good views. We were unable to get close to the cranes, herons and ducks because the ground was soft and there was a danger of the vehicle getting stuck in the mud. A pair of African Marsh Harriers was hunting over the grassland and this provided an opportunity for a close-up photo.
