Striped Kingfisher

This was a long day travelling from Kaapsehoop to Polokwane via the Taita Falcon site. Although a sighting of this small Falcon was stated as 100% certain by the local guide only the day before, the family party of two adults and two juveniles had left the nest for some flying and hunting practice. (There are no 100% certainties when bird watching of course). The photo of the journey therefore was this more commonly seen and rather damp Striped Kingfisher posing on a cable while we waited at a traffic intersection.
