Common Chaffinch adult female

We visited the Gornerschlucht on our final day in Zermatt. This is a spectacular site with a fast flowing river running through a deep gorge and for 4 Swiss Francs, it is possible to walk along the gorge on a perilously cantilevered wooden path. Fortunately for me, the lady who collects the money is an enthusiastic bird watcher who puts out food for the birds both in her multiple feeders and on the ground. This Common Chaffinch was one of the many birds which came to the area to feed.
