Matterhorn

The view of the Matterhorn from Zermatt is one of the greatest views in Europe in my humble opinion. This was our sixth holiday in Zermatt but the first for 24 years. I remember some of the wildlife of the area from earlier visits but the focus in those days was more on high alpine walking. Age takes its toll of course so the opportunity this year was to walk at a more sedate pace and study and photograph the wildlife. Our hotel balcony had one of the best views of the Matterhorn so I shall start with the obligatory photograph of this amazing mountain.
