Black Redstart adult female

Black Redstarts could always be found in a rocky area on the edge of Zermatt and I was pleased to find several birds still in the same place. Their preferred habitat is along the main fast flowing river which brings a torrent of cold grey water off the mountains and through the centre of Zermatt. This bird was perched on a rock besides the river where it was feeding on the local insect life.
