A Kingfisher has been seen at irregular intervals over a number of years in Kelsey Park, Beckenham but rarely photographed there. In recent weeks, there have been a few sightings of a Kingfisher in the Park. This male Kingfisher was seen from the old Information Centre flying along the lower lake at 09:20 on Tuesday morning, the 10th November. It perched for a few seconds on an overhanging branch before flying to another branch. It repeated this manoeuvre before flying in the direction of Beckenham and was unfortunately not seen again. The best chance of seeing a Kingfisher in Kelsey Park is to walk slowly along the lower lake in front of the old Information Centre early in the morning. In particular, watch the far side of the lake and especially the overhanging branches where the Kingfisher can perch.
