Verditer Flycatcher

Verditer Flycatcher Eumyias Thalassinus is a reasonably easy species to see across much of Asia. On this tour, we saw eleven individual birds on six separate days. It often perches in the open as in this photo and is a stunning torqouise colour perhaps not unique in nature but certainly very unusual. The dark lores and white-tipped undertail coverts can also be seen in the photo.

The preferred habitat of Verditer Flycatcher is open broad-leaved evergreen forest, plantations and parks. It has a range which includes the Himalayas, south east Asia, Borneo and Sumatra.
