Verditer Flycatcher Eumyias Thalassinus is a reasonably easy species to see across much of Asia. On this tour, we saw eleven individual birds on six separate days. It often perches in the open as in this photo and is a stunning torqouise colour perhaps not unique in nature but certainly very unusual. The dark lores and barred under-tail coverts can also be seen in the photo. This bird is darker blue than those I have seen in India which is possibly due to the poor light but may also be the subspecies, perhaps E.t.thallasoides from Thailand and further south.
The preferred habitat of Verditer Flycatcher is open broad-leaved evergreen forest, plantations and parks. It has a range which includes the Himalayas, south east Asia, Borneo and Sumatra.
