We visited an area of forest well known for Greater Birds-of-paradise and saw several birds at their lek. Unfortunately, the line of sight was poor and they were high up in the trees so I’m afraid that I have no photographic records of these amazing birds. Many years previously, our local guide had taken the BBC film makers to the same site and by setting up tree ropes and climbing equipment they had managed to get some remarkable film of the display ritual of these birds. The best that I was able to manage was a photograph of this dragonfly very close to a hut where David Attenborough had stayed for several months during filming.
