Blue Chaffinch adult male

A short trip to the Canary Islands soon found us in the pine forests at high altitude looking for Blue Chaffinch. A car park for visitors seemed like a good place to stop but it was full of tourists when we arrived. Fortunately, they soon left and we were able to sit and wait in what looked a good spot for birds. This stunning male bird was very tame and not afraid to come close to us.
