Carrion Crow

Carrion Crow

This behaviour of a Carrion Crow in my local Park is observed infrequently and is known as ‘anting’. Basically, the crow is sitting with its wings opened and touching the grass. This allows ants to crawl over its feathers with the purpose of removing parasites. This is an example of a symbiotic relationship where both crow and ant benefit from this behaviour.
