Chinese Sparrowhawk

Chinese Sparrowhawk

A cruise on the mighty Kinabatangan River is a great way to relax and see the wildlife. Much of the original forest in this area has been cut to make way for the ubiquitous oil palm plantations. A narrow strip of remaining hardwood forest along the river banks holds an astonishing variety of wildlife. This Chinese Sparrowhawk, a migrant to Borneo, was omitted from the checklist at the time but was identified later from this photo.
