Common Moorhen

Common Moorhen

This Common Moorhen sat on its well-constructed nest for several hours in hot sunshine. It did not appear to be too concerned about the Grass Snakes in the water. Grass Snakes feed mainly on amphibians so it is possible that the Moorhen does not see one as a major threat. Source: Wikipedia.
