Banded Groundling

Banded Groundling

An attractive dragonfly species in the thorn bush habitat of Akagera National Park. This dragonfly is a female Banded Groundling Brachythemis genus. The Banded Groundling is one of Africa’s most familiar and abundant dragonflies. It could be either leucosticta or impartita, the latter having been separated from leucosticta in 2009 and known as Northern Banded Groundling. They are very difficult to separate.
