European Serin juvenile

This European Serin juvenile was photographed sitting on a rock at eye level. The habitat in and around Zermatt includes parkland and coniferous trees so perhaps this species breeds in the area. This tiny bird flew as soon as I had taken the photo so its identity was only discovered on processing the image.
