Forty-spotted Pardalote

It was a privilege to have Forty-spotted Pardalotes nesting very close to the cottage. This species is rare and declining within its restricted range in Tasmania. I was lucky that there was a shaft of sunlight on the bird outside its nest hole in the late afternoon. A great day for Tasmanian endemics.
