Gang-gang Cockatoo adult male

Gang-gang Cockatoo adult male

My Australian birding friend had kindly suggested that we would be able to stay with her and her family in Melbourne and the day after our arrival, she suggested that we might like to visit Healsville. Although it has captive species and significant breeding programmes, Healsville is also a good place to see a number of wild birds. Walking along the tracks in pouring rain, she quietly pointed upwards to this Cockatoo which stayed feeding on seeds just a few metres away while I readied my camera and took a few shots while trying to keep the rain off the lens. We didn’t see another Gang-gang during our visit to Australia.
