Goldcrest

Goldcrest

Goldcrest is a resident species in Kelsey Park, Beckenham. It is one of the smallest UK birds and is therefore hard to find but best located by its high pitched call. In the Park, you are most likely to find a Goldcrest in tall coniferous trees or lower down in Holly bushes. I spent several hours trying to photograph a Goldcrest on this day. They are very difficult to see in the open and even more difficult to photograph. A front view of a Goldcrest showing it crown is preferable to this view but on this day, the birds were rather camera shy.
