Herring Gull

A first winter European Herring Gull photographed at Kelsey Park, Beckenham. Herring Gull is a frequent visitor to the Park but seen only in small numbers of perhaps two or three birds. First winter Gulls are difficult to identify with similarities between Herring Gull and Black-backed Gulls. The paler head and lighter brown coloration overall would indicate that this is a Herring Gull.
