Horned (Slavonian) Grebe non-breeding

We were still in the wrong time zone having been in California for less than 24 hours so an afternoon rest was needed. We walked to Fisherman’s Wharf from our hotel in the late afternoon in order to check the departure point of the following day’s boat trip. The harbour contained a number of interesting birds and mammals.
