Little Pied Flycatcher Ficedula westermanni was seen on a few occasions only in the Doi Inthanon National Park. This striking black and white male bird was seen and photographed from below in the same tree along with species of sunbird and tit. The subspecies F. w. australorientis is found in this part of Thailand but can only be separated if the female of the species is seen.

Little Pied Flycatcher is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is found in the Indian Subcontinent and South-east Asia, ranging across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. In the Indian Subcontinent, it breeds in broad-leaved or pine forest and winters in open deciduous woodland, groves, gardens and orchards.
